In a Premier League clash, Chelsea faced Liverpool away and ultimately lost 1-2 to the Reds.

During the game, Jadon Sancho’s performance was disastrous, and he was substituted at halftime, enduring a public humiliation.

This summer, Sancho left Manchester United on loan and joined Chelsea.

In the first seven rounds of the league, Sancho has played four times for Chelsea, with three of those appearances as a starter.

For today’s match against Liverpool, coach Enzo Maresca still opted to start Sancho.

However, Sancho’s performance in the first half was disappointing, with his only notable attack occurring in the 22nd minute.

Sancho drove into the box and went down following a challenge with Trent Alexander-Arnold.

One of the key controversies of the match?

Replays showed that Arnold had indeed made contact with Sancho’s leg, but the referee did not award a penalty.

At the end of the first half, Chelsea were trailing 0-1. Straight after the break, Maresca made a substitution, taking off Sancho and leaving him to watch from the bench.

Sancho substituted at halftime!

For any professional player, being substituted after just one half of starting play is a clear public humiliation.

In the first 45 minutes, Sancho’s stats were abysmal: zero goals, assists, shots, dribbles, key passes, crosses, tackles, or defensive actions.

Sancho failed all 3 dribbling attempts!

In fact, he registered zero in all 12 key statistical categories. On both ends of the pitch, he was virtually invisible.

Notably, Sancho failed in all three of his dribbling attempts and also lost all three of his ground duels.

Looking at the stats, it’s hard to believe that this player was once seen as a physical talent with immense potential.

According to German data site Transfermarkt, Sancho’s current market value has dropped to €30 million.

At his peak, Sancho’s market value reached €130 million. In just four years, his value has plummeted by €100 million.

Ten Hag is probably smiling with satisfaction?

Given Sancho’s current poor form, Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is likely feeling some satisfaction.
