According to the latest report from ESPN, Olmo is expected to make his debut for Barcelona in tomorrow’s early morning La Liga match.

Olmo
This summer, Barça signed Olmo for a hefty fee of €55 million. However, due to exceeding the salary cap, the club had been unable to register him, causing Olmo to miss the matches against Valencia and Athletic Bilbao.
In an effort to get Olmo on the field, Barcelona has aggressively offloaded players in the past few days. Within just three days, they parted ways with Gundogan, Faye, Roque, and Lenglet. Despite these efforts, the club was still unable to register Olmo, highlighting their financial struggles.

Yesterday, sources within Barça told ESPN that Olmo might not be able to play tomorrow, and they were pessimistic about his registration.
However, later in the day, there was a significant breakthrough. Barcelona submitted a special request to La Liga, citing the long-term injury of defender Christensen and requesting to use 80% of the Danish center-back’s salary to register a new player.

Under Article 77 of the La Liga Budgeting Regulations, Barça was allowed to temporarily register Olmo until December 31 of this year.
La Liga has approved Barça’s request, and only the final paperwork remains. If all goes as planned, Olmo will take the field at 3 AM in tomorrow’s match.

Can Olmo get his debut in tomorrow?
Barcelona has stated that they plan to continue selling players before the transfer window closes to complete Olmo’s permanent registration, replacing the current temporary one.
Notably, this is not the first time Barça has used Article 77 of the injury registration rule. Last winter, they temporarily registered Roque using Gavi’s injury.
