Real Betis defeated Vitória Guimarães 4-0 on the road this morning in the second leg of the UEFA Europa Conference League Round of 16, earning a 6-2 victory overall and moving on to the quarterfinals.
One of the most impressive players was Antony, a Manchester United loaner who scored a goal and provided an assist to help Betis win.
Antony’s A Goal and an Assist to Guarantee Betis’ Win
Antony had assisted in holding Betis to a 2-2 draw at home in the first leg. The Brazilian winger, however, showed his attacking ability from the first minute of the return match, improving his performance even more.

Fifth minute: Cédric Bakambu scored an early goal after Antony’s well-timed through pass.

In the twentieth minute, Antony attacked down the right side, opening up space, and then passed to Ruibal, who crossed the ball for Bakambu to score Betis’ second goal. Betis had already taken a 2-0 lead at the interval.

In the 58th minute, Antony showed off his incredible speed and dribbling skills by grabbing the ball from midfield and running into the box, where he finished with a calm low-driven shot to give Betis a 3-0 lead.

In the 80th minute, Antony once again shown his inventiveness by getting past Vitória’s defense and creating a space for Isco, who coolly put the ball in the net to seal the 4-0 victory.

The Comeback of Antony!
Antony has quickly returned to his peak after joining Real Betis in January. He has already equaled his goal total from his one and a half seasons at Manchester United with four goals and four assists in just ten games.

His stats demonstrate his increasing impact at Betis:
In La Liga:
- 2.17 tackles per game
- 0.83 interceptions per game
- 0.50 clearances per game
In European competition (UCL):
- 1.0 tackles per game
- 1.0 interceptions per game
- 0.5 clearances per game
Manchester United has taken notice of Antony’s all-around impact, and after seeing his comeback, the team is apparently reassessing his future.
