In Milan derby, Inter Milan secured a 2-1 away victory over AC Milan, clinching the Serie A league title with 5 rounds remaining.

This marks Inter Milan's 20th Serie A title in their history, surpassing their city rivals AC Milan.

After the final whistle confirmed Inter's league triumph, 26-year-old captain Lautaro Martinez remained on the ground for a long time, visibly moved, covering his face and shedding tears, a scene that deeply touched many Inter fans.

Subsequently, Martinez climbed onto the goalpost to celebrate, finally smiling, reminiscent of his celebration from Argentina's triumph in the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

After the match, Martinez held up the Inter Milan badge with two stars, symbolizing the club's achievement, and spoke to the media. 

In the interview, the Argentine striker struggled to contain his emotions.

He choked up as he said, "I'm close to tears. We've put in a lot of effort and endured a lot of pain, and now we've finally achieved our dream. 

We deserve this joy. I want to dedicate this victory to my children, my family, and all the Inter Milan fans. The whole stadium belongs to us now."

Lautaro is willing to renew his contract with Inter Milan

Martinez also expressed his willingness to extend his contract with Inter Milan: "I've always wanted this. I'll continue to communicate with the club's management. 

But tonight, I just want to enjoy this victory and celebrate. We all deserve this championship."

This season, Martinez scored 26 goals and provided 2 assists in 40 appearances for Inter Milan. 

Can Lautaro win golden boot?

In Serie A alone, he netted 23 goals, leading the top scorer chart with a comfortable 7-goal margin over the second-placed player, putting him in a strong position to claim both the Serie A title and the league's golden boot.
