Spanish media outlets such as COPE, "Diario Sport," and Relevo have reported that Barcelona head coach Xavi is considering a change of heart and may continue in his role at the club.

Xavi has already held discussions with sporting director Deco, and further talks with Barcelona president Joan Laporta are expected to take place regarding his future at the club.

Following Barcelona's 3-5 defeat to Villarreal in La Liga on January 27th, Xavi announced in a press conference that he would not continue as the club's head coach after the 2023-24 season.

According to "Diario Sport," Barcelona has not been in contact with other potential coaches over the past three months, although representatives of some coaches have submitted their resumes to the club.

Laporta meets with Xavi

Both Laporta and Deco hope that Xavi will reconsider his decision and stay on as head coach.

Last week, Xavi met with Deco, and according to "Diario Sport," he presented a condition to Deco: he would be willing to stay if the club could sign three players during the summer transfer window.

Deco 'rejected' Xavi demands!

However, Deco rejected this request, informing Xavi that the club did not have sufficient funds to meet his demands.

In the El Clásico match against Real Madrid, Barcelona suffered a 2-3 defeat, sealing their trophy-less season.

This week, Laporta is set to meet with Xavi, and it is expected that Xavi will agree to continue as head coach.
